The Needlepoint of St. James
Order HERE!
During the decade of the 1970s, scores of artisans from St. James Episcopal Church in Keene, NH, undertook the creation of some 400 pieces of original church needlework. The resulting chancel and choir cushions, hangings, banners, rug, and individual kneelers honor the major feasts and fasts of the church year, document the history of the faith, and explore the full range of traditional church iconography.
50 years on, some individual pieces are wearing out and/or being retired as the church worship needs change. This book captures and documents the full extent of the project, the memorial donations that made it possible, and it honors the legacy of those who gifted a full decade of labor and love to their beloved parish.

READ THE REVIEWS
This title was commissioned by the Pitts Family Trust of Arlington, Va. It is the incredible story of four black brothers who, in the midst of family tragedy and the tribulations of the Great Depression, went on to achieve success and make significant contributions to their country in government service and education. The original concept was by Raymond Pitts, third of the brothers, who believed that the stories of prominent blacks like himself, in the era between Jim Crow and the Civil Rights Movement, were being lost to history. He set out to try to preserve the family’s stories. His children, through the Pitts Family Trust are carrying out his wishes.
