Advice to authors: If you can find an agent and/or successfully market yourself to a traditional publisher, by all means–go for it! They have so many more connections and resources than we can offer; this is still the best way to get your book in the hands of others. However, for those who have their own marketing capability, who just don’t want to try to navigate the world of traditional publishing, or have had one too many “very encouraging rejection,”a small private publisher is a good one. You can find a reputable one who will give you a far better product than you can purchase from a self-publish internet-based company, probably for less.
